Who Should Apply?
Students who have the "Individual Determination" to attend college, be a leader, and strive to, or already...
- behave appropriately in class, - attend school regularly - possess a 2.0 - 3.5 GPA - enroll in honors/advanced classes - work hard to set and meet academic goals, and - actively participate in AVID events. Students who meet one or more of the following criteria: - Will be the first in their family to attend college - Are from a population traditionally underserved in 4-year colleges - May have special circumstances to be considered (i.e. teacher recommendations, etc.) |
Application
1. Complete the AVID application.
2. Turn in your AVID application to an AVID teacher/coordinator: Ms. Shane, Mrs. Cadman, Mrs. Vargas, Ms. Gallegos, Mr. Harris, Ms. Short, or Mrs. Dorn.
3. You will be interviewed so we can get to know more about you.
4. Your application and interview will be reviewed and using that information we can see if AVID is the right fit for you.
5. If it is a good fit, the AVID team will start changing your schedule to challenge you and to add AVID into your school day.
